Only Spiritualization Can Eliminate the Ills of Society

In contemporary societies, human beings are constantly encouraged to be competitive. During childhood and adolescence, children are evaluated by their parents regarding their behavior within the family environment, subjected to tests and exams in elementary and high schools, and to selection processes for admission to higher education institutions. Later, as adults, they are chosen through competitive examinations for public service or, in the private sector, subjected to often quite rigorous performance evaluation criteria.

This highly competitive environment, which demands high levels of productivity and performance, can cause serious behavioral distortions in interpersonal relationships, encouraging selfishness in those who seek, at any cost, to achieve prominent positions.

Not infrequently, many of these individuals resort to unfair or unethical practices to outperform those considered competitors. In turn, those who do not meet the evaluation standards of today’s highly competitive environment end up marginalized, considered ineffective or unproductive, which causes them various material and psychological problems.

Furthermore, the rigidity and inflexibility of these assessment methods make it difficult to recognize and accept individual differences, whether related to intellectual level, work pace, information processing ability—skills increasingly demanded—or, above all, the specific degree of spiritual evolution of those being assessed.

This way of thinking and acting fuels prejudice and discrimination, and consequently perpetuates a social structure that, from the earliest years of life, transmits values to children, adolescents, and young people that often result in the development of egotism, intolerance, and excessive ambition upon reaching adulthood—true moral wounds currently observed in societies.

This scenario is also reflected globally, manifesting itself in relations between nations. This context helps explain the origin of countless conflicts of opinion, discord, wars, and other social ills that plague the world, driven by the incessant pursuit of conquests, whether material or territorial. Added to this is the constant attempt by some to impose their own convictions on others, whether ideological, geopolitical, religious, or otherwise.

In light of this, only the spiritualization of humanity will be able to transform this reality positively. However, this work must begin in the family environment, from the earliest years of human life. When educated from childhood in the light of Christian Rationalist principles, they will certainly be better prepared to avoid such distortions in human relationships.

To this end, Christian Rationalist houses worldwide continually dedicate themselves to the promotion and practice of Christian Rationalism, understanding that this is an urgent and essential need for humanity. Each Christian Rationalist plays a relevant role in this process by spreading the spirituality contained in their concepts and principles to those around them, especially their descendants.

Therefore, Christian Rationalists must strive to contribute to the spiritualization of their families, we insist, guiding their actions and interpersonal relationships by examples of ethical conduct and harmonious coexistence. Do not allow greed, selfishness, or intolerance to override the moral values that should guide human attitudes, regardless of the social context in which they are inserted.

All are equal in essence; all are spirits in continuous evolution, possessing a human body in each existence, with much to teach and learn, to effectively collaborate in building a better world.
