“Discipline Ensures Evolutionary Progress”

Christian Rationalism was founded 114 years ago with the purpose of bringing spiritual enlightenment to humanity. To this end, Luiz de Mattos, considered by all to be a notable humanist and master of spirituality, studied and systematized philosophical concepts of great thinkers since antiquity, devoted careful attention to medical, social and natural sciences, as well as researching spiritist doctrines and their practices, to then, write the Christian Rationalist philosophy aiming at the well-being of human beings in the light of spiritualist concepts and principles defined by him in his enlightening text, expanding the horizon of living on Earth far beyond the materiality that unfortunately still predominates on this physical plane.

Luiz de Mattos made it very clear in his book, also entitled Christian Rationalism, that human beings are a composite of force and matter, as he also considered the Universe itself, all are subject, without any exceptions, to the same transcendent evolutionary laws that govern the Universal Whole, here understood as life in the Universe in its broad, constructive and transformative aspect.

Force, in its transcendent characteristic, is immaterial, inciting and transformative, while matter is the passive and moldable element. Therefore, the human being is nothing more than the permanent action of force, that is, of his spirit, on matter, or rather, on his physical body, and is on Earth with a single objective, which is to work for his own evolution through the development of his natural attributes, in order to achieve, on this physical plane, the intended spiritual growth as was planned by his spirit in its respective evolutionary internship realm.

To this end, it is necessary for the person to know that the improvement of spiritual attributes requires the use of his intelligence in analyzing the facts of life, in becoming aware of the limits and potentialities that he has, in understanding the need to have self-control and maturity, without forgetting the will as a driving force for human aspirations and achievements resistant to misconduct, such as the easy and quick gains caused by corruption.

Consequently, it is very important to have discipline in living. Who in their life has never encountered someone with qualities that reveal great maturity, as they act with discretion, serenity, moderation and consideration on a daily basis, having common sense in solving their existential problems, extending their helping hand to those most in need by practicing the good in a disinterested way?

These beautiful examples of personal behavior are not the product of mere chance, they are not outstanding values of a personality formed by blessings from alleged gods, but by achievements resulting from rigor and dedication to daily work in multiple experiences of the spirit in possession of a human body, of the incessant search for evolutionary development, for self-improvement of character in each existence.

On this day when the Christian Rationalist community celebrates Spirituality Day worldwide, simultaneously celebrating another anniversary of the founding of Christian Rationalism by Luiz de Mattos and Luiz Thomaz on January 26, 1910, we clearly and categorically affirm that spiritual enlightenment is the only secure path to be explored by all human beings in this schooling world Earth, taking advantage of the teachings it provides through the interrelationships established between people, organized societies and nations.

Therefore, for evolutionary progress to occur, it is necessary for everyone to discipline their daily lives, putting into practice the teachings received from the study of spirituality defended by Christian Rationalism in its concepts and principles. They will certainly fulfill their duties correctly, finding the happiness they seek, as it is deep within every human being.
